Some wedding venues are beautiful places that happen to have a dance floor.
Elmore Court is different.
Set in the Gloucestershire countryside overlooking the Cotswold hills, Elmore combines the character of its historic house and gardens with something very special for the evening — The Gillyflower.
Purpose-built for dinner, music and dancing, it makes Elmore one of my favourite Cotswolds venues for couples who want the party to be a genuinely important part of their wedding.
Having DJed at Elmore Court, I know the venue, the flow of the day and how good The Gillyflower can feel when the lights come down and the dance floor fills.
From Elmore Court to The Gillyflower
One of the things I love about Elmore is the natural transition between the different parts of the wedding.
The house and gardens provide the backdrop for the ceremony, drinks and photographs before guests move across to The Gillyflower for dinner and the evening celebration.
Musically, that gives us an opportunity to do exactly the same thing.
Relaxed and sophisticated earlier in the day.
A little more energy as dinner approaches.
Then, when it's time to party, everything changes.
A Wedding Venue Built for Music
The Gillyflower isn't an ordinary function room.
It was designed with music, celebration and dancing in mind, with its own professional Funktion-One sound system and integrated lighting.
For a DJ, that's a serious advantage.
Rather than bringing excessive equipment into such a beautifully designed space, I can work with the venue and its existing production to create something that feels completely at home in the room.
The result is clean, understated and — when the time comes — incredibly effective.

That gives me the direction — but not a rigid playlist.
On the night, I read the room and build the set around what's actually happening on the dance floor.
Soul into disco.
Disco into house.
Indie into 90s.
R&B into garage.
Old favourites into something completely unexpected.
If it works, it works.
The right music, at the right time, for the right crowd.
The Elmore Court Dance Floor
Once the first dance is finished, the evening becomes a proper DJ set.
No stop-start playlist.
No unnecessary microphone work.
No cheesy wedding DJ routines.
Instead, tracks are professionally mixed and the music moves naturally between genres and generations while I react to your guests. Some weddings want disco, funk and soul.
Others head towards house, garage and Ibiza.
Some crowds want indie, rock and huge singalong records.
Most end up somewhere in between.
That's why I don't decide exactly what I'm going to play before I arrive.
The people in front of me decide where we go next.
DJ x Sax at Elmore Court
The Gillyflower is an incredible setting for DJ x Sax.
The saxophonist performs live alongside the DJ rather than stopping the evening for a separate performance.
It means we can build the dance floor first and then introduce live sax at exactly the right moment.
House, disco, funk, soulful house and Ibiza-inspired tracks work particularly well, creating another level of energy without interrupting the flow of the set.
Sax can also be incorporated earlier in your wedding — including the drinks reception or cocktail hour — before joining me again for the evening party.

It doesn't need a DJ arriving with an enormous wall of equipment and turning The Gillyflower into a nightclub installation.
My approach is deliberately understated.
Clean presentation.

Carefully considered lighting.
And no unnecessary clutter.
