Stone Barn Wedding DJ
Wedding DJ at Stone Barn, Cotswolds
Stone Barn has everything you want from a Cotswolds wedding venue.
Beautiful stonework. Timber beams. Open countryside. Roaring fires. And, when the evening arrives, a space that was made for a proper party.
Tucked away between Burford and Northleach, Stone Barn combines the character of a traditional Cotswold barn with a relaxed, contemporary atmosphere.
It's also a venue I know well.
Having performed at Stone Barn — and as one of the DJs listed within the venue's trusted supplier directory — I understand the space, the setup and how the atmosphere develops throughout the day.
For me, the aim is simple:
Great music, a packed dance floor and a party that feels completely like you.
Music That Fits Stone Barn
Stone Barn has a naturally relaxed feel.
That makes it perfect for a wedding soundtrack that develops gradually rather than feeling like a series of separate playlists.
During the day, the music can sit quietly alongside drinks, food and conversation.
As the afternoon develops, we start introducing a little more energy.
Then the lights come down, the first dance happens and everything changes.
Before your wedding, we'll talk about the music you love, the artists that mean something to you, your must-play tracks and anything you definitely don't want to hear.
That gives me the direction.
From there, I read the room.
Your music. Your guests. Your party.
From Ceremony to Dance Floor
If you'd like music throughout your wedding, my All Day Wedding Package can create one continuous soundtrack from the arrival of your first guests through to the final track of the night.
Ceremony
Music can be provided for guest arrival, your aisle entrance, signing of the register and ceremony exit.
Stone Barn offers both indoor and outdoor ceremonies, so the setup can be adapted around whichever part of the venue you're using.
Drinks Reception
This is where the music should simply make everything feel better.
Soul.
Funk.
Acoustic edits.
Balearic sounds.
Disco.
Laid-back house.
Or something completely different.
Nothing overpowering — just carefully chosen music sitting underneath drinks, photographs and conversation.
Wedding Breakfast
During dinner, the soundtrack remains relaxed and unobtrusive.
A wireless microphone can also be provided for speeches where required.
Cocktail Hour
As dinner finishes, we start changing the mood.
The tempo comes up.
The music becomes a little more familiar.
Guests start realising that the evening is about to begin.
Then it's time for the first dance.
The Stone Barn Dance Floor
Stone Barn is built for a party.
Its ceremony space can be transformed into the evening dance floor, and the venue has its own professional Funktion-One sound system.
Once the first dance is finished, I approach the evening as a proper open-format DJ set.
There isn't a predetermined list of wedding songs that I work through.
Instead, I'm watching the room.
Who's dancing.
What's getting a reaction.
When to stay with a particular sound.
When to change direction completely.
Soul might become disco.
Disco might become house.
R&B might become garage.
Indie might become 90s.
And occasionally a record you never expected to hear becomes the biggest moment of the night.
That's what reading a dance floor is about.
A 1AM Finish
Another reason Stone Barn works so well for couples who really care about the party is its late licence.
The venue can celebrate through until 1am, giving us the opportunity to build the evening properly rather than trying to squeeze everything into a short set.
It means the music has somewhere to go.
We don't need every huge record in the first hour.
We can build the dance floor, change direction, take a few risks and let the evening develop naturally.
And when the final track eventually arrives, it feels like the end of a proper night.
DJ x Sax at Stone Barn
Stone Barn is an excellent setting for DJ x Sax.
The saxophonist performs live alongside me, improvising over selected tracks while the DJ set continues.
There's no interruption to the party.
We build the dance floor first and then bring the sax into the room at the right moment.
House, disco, funk, soulful house and Ibiza-inspired music work particularly well.
Live sax can also be added earlier in your wedding for the drinks reception or cocktail hour, before returning for the evening celebration.
A Setup That Complements the Barn
Stone Barn already has character.
Flagstone floors, exposed timber, Cotswold stone and a huge open fireplace create an atmosphere that doesn't need to be hidden behind unnecessary DJ equipment.
My approach is deliberately clean and understated.
Professional equipment.
Considered lighting.
Minimal clutter.
And a setup designed to complement the room rather than dominate it.
Stone Barn also has its own Funktion-One system, so the evening setup can work intelligently with the venue's existing production.
The focus remains exactly where it should be:
On the music and the people on the dance floor.
