Yes. Ivy Lodge lists a DJ as one of its music options, alongside its own lighting and sound system and live bands. I bring a clean DJ booth and programmed lighting, and plug into the Main Barn’s own Funktion-One sound system. Evening starts at £1,150 and All-day at £1,750, and we always begin with a music consultation.
Ivy Lodge is a castellated lodge and timber barn in the grounds of Cirencester Park. I’ve performed there, so I know how the music needs to suit the relaxed, stylish feel of the day and then build naturally into a proper evening party.

How do you plan the music for an Ivy Lodge wedding?
I don’t work from a fixed playlist. Before the wedding we talk about the music you love, the tracks that mean something to you and anything you’d rather avoid. Send as much direction as you like: a long Spotify playlist, or twenty tracks and a do-not-play list.
On the night I combine those choices with reading the room. That might mean soul, disco, funk, indie, R&B, garage, house, Ibiza classics or 80s and 90s favourites. I’d rather respond to the people in front of me than decide weeks ahead what plays at 10.45pm.
How does the music run through a wedding day at Ivy Lodge?
With the All-day package, one DJ looks after the whole soundtrack at Ivy Lodge: ceremony music, the drinks reception, background music through the wedding breakfast, a wireless microphone for speeches, then the evening party. All-day starts from £1,750, and we plan each part together beforehand.
Ceremony
In the building or outside on the front lawn, with music planned for arrivals, the aisle, the signing and your exit.
Drinks reception
Soul, funk, acoustic covers and laid-back house while guests enjoy the grounds and photos happen.
Wedding breakfast & speeches
Background music that leaves room for conversation, and a wireless microphone for the speeches.
Cocktail hour
The music gradually lifts towards disco, funk and feel-good favourites as the evening begins.
The evening party
An open-format, properly mixed set built around your guests, right through to the last song.
Can we add live sax at Ivy Lodge?
Yes, on either package. The saxophonist plays live over chosen tracks while I keep mixing underneath, so the dance floor never stops for a separate performance. It suits house, disco, funk and Ibiza classics most. What it costs depends on your date.
What does your setup look like at Ivy Lodge?
Presentation matters somewhere as beautiful as Ivy Lodge. My setup is deliberately clean and understated: a stylish DJ booth and programmed lighting designed to suit the barn rather than dominate it, with the music running through the Main Barn’s own Funktion-One sound system.
An upgraded lighting package with 10 wireless uplighters is also available, adding warmth around the space without trailing cables.
How much is a wedding DJ at Ivy Lodge?
For Ivy Lodge, the Evening package is from £1,150 and covers up to five hours of music. All-day, from £1,750, adds the ceremony, drinks reception and wedding breakfast. Either one can take live sax, which I price once I know your date, and both start with a music consultation.

Who is Alistair Rutherford?
I’m Alistair Rutherford. I’ve been DJing professionally for more than ten years, at luxury weddings, private parties and events in the UK and abroad, and I’m a resident DJ at Soho Farmhouse (Soho House). Expect a mixed, open-format set rather than a standard wedding playlist, and very little from me on the microphone. No cheesy routines either.
