Lower Slaughter Manor is a 17th-century house with five acres of landscaped gardens, now trading as The Slaughters Manor House. Take it on exclusive use and the whole place is yours: all 19 rooms and suites, for up to 120 guests.
I know the Cotswolds country-house circuit well. A country house like this calls for restraint early on, then the party gets my full attention. I'm Alistair Rutherford, a resident DJ at Soho Farmhouse, and my booth, sound and programmed lighting stay clean and understated.

An open-format, properly mixed set: disco, house, garage, indie, 80s and 90s, led by who's on the floor.
It starts with a conversation about what you love and what you'd rather not hear. My planning portal makes it easy: begin with a single song, share a QR code or link so guests can send requests, and decide which ones are accepted.

Alistair DJ’d at our wedding and was absolutely fantastic. We knew how important the music would be in the evening - how it would set the tone and energy in the room. Alistair read it perfectly, meaning people were on the dance floor all night. He mixed the songs we wanted played with others that complimented the genres perfectly.

Two ways to book
Evening
Music consultation, DJ booth, professional sound and programmed lighting. You also get my planning portal for your song list and guest requests. My packages run until midnight. Where a venue's licence allows, you can add a late finish to 1am for an extra fee, which I'll quote on request.
All day
Everything in Evening, plus ceremony, drinks and dinner music, a wireless microphone for speeches and 10 wireless uplighters.
If you’d like live sax or anything else on top, I’ll quote it for your date. Travel is quoted for your venue and dates.
Lower Slaughter Manor questions
Can we have the manor to ourselves?
Yes. Exclusive use covers all 19 rooms and suites, for up to 120 guests.
Is there a smaller option?
The Oxford Room can be booked exclusively for up to 22 guests.
Can you play music for the ceremony?
Yes, with the all-day package from £1,750. The manor holds civil ceremonies in the Pink Lounge or the Restaurant, both licensed rooms, and I can cover the ceremony, drinks and wedding breakfast before the evening set. I keep my own time on the mic to a minimum.
Where do we send our song choices?
Everything goes into my planning portal, where you list the songs you'd like in the set. You can also pass a link or QR code to your guests for requests, then choose which of them make the cut. It keeps the planning in one place rather than spread across emails.
Will you deal with the manor's supplier paperwork?
Yes. I can send my insurance and PAT certificates to the manor's events coordinator in advance, so they have what they need without you chasing it. After more than ten years of weddings, I'm used to working around a venue's timings, and I'll check the running order with you beforehand.
